Tierra del Fuego National Park Tickets: Prices, Hours and How to Buy

Tierra del Fuego National Park

Table of Contents

Tierra del Fuego National Park requires a paid admission ticket for most visitors. As of August 12, 2026, the official daily general rate is ARS 40,000, and the park is officially open daily from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, including holidays. The National Park entrance, the End of the World Train and transportation from Ushuaia are separate components unless your chosen excursion explicitly bundles or lets you add them.

Our practical recommendation is to reserve the complete visit through VisitUshuaia before buying isolated components. Selecting the excursion first makes it easier to match the correct date, pickup, train departure and ticket category. On eligible VisitUshuaia tours, the park admission can be added during booking, giving you one local point of contact for the operational parts of the day.

Tierra del Fuego National Park ticket prices for 2026

The Administración de Parques Nacionales tariff page states that the prices have been valid since June 1, 2026. Amounts are in Argentine pesos and can change, so recheck the official page before publication and travel.

The official tariff notes that the student category must be supported by current documentation issued by a formal public or private institution in Argentina. A foreign student card should therefore not be assumed to qualify.

Who enters free?

Common exempt categories include children from birth through age six, local residents, Argentine retirees and pensioners with the required documents, people with disabilities holding a valid CUD or foreign equivalent, veterans of the Malvinas War, guides and approved educational visits. Each exemption has documentation rules; do not rely on age or status without carrying proof.

Multi-day Flexipass and annual-pass prices

Argentina’s National Parks Administration also lists three-day and seven-day Flexipass products plus an annual pass.

Tierra del Fuego National Park opening hours

The official APN hours and access page states that the park is open from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM every day, including public holidays.

That does not mean every trail, facility or transport service operates for the full twelve-hour window. Seasonal trails have their own opening months and registration requirements. Weather, snow, wind, fire risk or operational conditions can also restrict access.

The Alakush Visitor Center is the main service point inside the park. According to the official services page, food service normally operates from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and public restrooms from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. There is no park-wide Wi-Fi, and mobile signal is limited.

How to buy Tierra del Fuego National Park tickets

Option 1: Book the complete visit with VisitUshuaia — our recommended method

For most international visitors, the best sequence is to choose the excursion first and add the National Park admission where the booking form offers it. We recommend this method because the entrance ticket is only one part of the day. You may also need transport, hotel pickup, an English-speaking guide, a train seat or a cruise-compatible return time.

The National Park + End of the World Train excursion includes hotel pickup, guiding and train tickets; the park entrance can be added during booking. A traveler who also wants the channel can reserve the National Park with Train & Beagle Channel, again checking the clearly listed inclusions and adding the park fee where offered.

Booking the components through VisitUshuaia offers practical advantages:

  • Correct sequencing: the park date, pickup and train departure are coordinated before a nominal ticket is issued.
  • Fewer separate reservations: supported products allow the park entrance to be added in the same booking process.
  • Local operational support: you receive confirmation and a contact path for pickup or schedule questions.
  • Appropriate tour format: hotel guests and cruise passengers are assigned different products when necessary.
  • Transparent inclusions: the product page shows whether train, park admission, meals and transfers are included or optional.
  • Better itinerary design: the park can be combined with the Beagle Channel without guessing whether two independent schedules connect.

This convenience does not change the park’s official admission rules, and it does not mean every VisitUshuaia product includes the entrance automatically. Read the “What’s Included” section and add the fee when the booking form presents that option.

Option 2: Buy directly from the official National Parks portal

Independent travelers can buy through the official APN ticket website. The online process requires a verified email address, passenger information and a credit or debit card.

Before payment, check the date, visitor category, number of tickets and identity data carefully. Under the official ticket terms, online tickets are nominal and non-transferable; once purchased, the quantity and category cannot be modified, and the standard policy does not allow changes, refunds or returns.

This rigidity is one of the main reasons we advise international travelers to select and coordinate their VisitUshuaia excursion before purchasing a separate admission.

Option 3: Buy at the entrance

The APN frequently asked questions state that access fees can be paid in Argentine pesos and that Tierra del Fuego National Park accepts major credit or debit cards, subject to the cards supported at the park. Buying at the gate can work, but it does not reserve transport, a guide or the End of the World Train.

For a smoother day, especially in peak season, reserve the full service with VisitUshuaia and arrive with the operational pieces already confirmed.

Do you need a passport?

Yes. All ticket categories must be validated with a current identity document showing identity and residence. International visitors should carry the valid passport used for the booking. Argentine visitors should carry their DNI, and anyone claiming a reduced or exempt category must also bring the required proof.

If your name or category is wrong, do not assume it can be corrected at the entrance. APN describes tickets as nominal and non-transferable. This is another advantage of having the excursion and ticket details reviewed together.

Does the park ticket include the End of the World Train?

No. The National Park entrance fee and the End of the World Train ticket are separate. A combined excursion may include the train and allow you to add the park admission, but buying only the APN entrance does not reserve a train seat.

Read Tierra del Fuego National Park and the End of the World Train for the full experience, and check End of the World Train departure times before trying to arrange the pieces independently.

Does the ticket include transportation from Ushuaia?

No. Admission does not include transportation. Independent visitors can drive, take a scheduled transfer or arrange a taxi, but they must still plan movement between the park’s dispersed stops and the return to town. Compare Getting Around Ushuaia Without a Car with Renting a Car in Ushuaia.

A guided VisitUshuaia excursion solves this by connecting pickup, transport inside the park, interpretation and return service according to the selected product.

Special advice for cruise passengers

Cruise visitors should not reserve a standard hotel-based departure and assume it will fit the ship.

Book the shore excursion to Tierra del Fuego National Park or ask VisitUshuaia for a private service aligned with disembarkation and all-aboard times.
The Ultimate Guide for Cruisers Visiting Ushuaia explains why direct pier coordination and a realistic return margin matter. A cheaper standalone ticket provides no protection against a mismatched tour schedule.

What to bring with your ticket

  • Valid passport or DNI used for the reservation.
  • Supporting document for any discounted or exempt category.
  • Downloaded ticket or voucher available offline.
  • Waterproof and warm layers; use our Ushuaia packing guide.
  • Water and a light snack, especially outside Alakush service hours.
  • Confirmation showing pickup or meeting point.
  • Train voucher if your itinerary includes the railway.

If you plan to visit the End of the World Post Office, check the current operational situation separately; the Post Office at the End of the World guide explains how it fits into a park itinerary.

Frequently asked questions

How much is the Tierra del Fuego National Park entrance fee in 2026?

The official daily general rate is ARS 40,000 from June 1, 2026. Argentine national residents pay ARS 18,000, provincial residents ARS 8,000 and eligible students ARS 12,000.

Can I pay by credit card?

Yes. APN accepts online payment by credit or debit card, and its visitor FAQ lists card acceptance at Tierra del Fuego National Park. Carry an alternative payment method because connectivity can be limited.

Can I change or refund an online ticket?

The standard APN online-ticket terms say no changes, refunds or returns. Check all passenger, category and date information before confirming.

Is the park open on holidays?

The official published schedule is 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM every day, including holidays. Access can still change because of weather or safety conditions.

Is the Train of the End of the World included?

No. It is a separate ticket unless your selected tour explicitly includes it.

What is the easiest way to book everything?

Reserve the complete excursion through VisitUshuaia, add the park entrance where offered and let one team coordinate transport, guide, train and timing. It reduces the risk of buying a non-changeable admission before the itinerary is confirmed.

Final recommendation: reserve the full visit, not only the entrance

The park ticket is easy to understand once the correct category is known, but the visit involves more than admission. The strongest option is to book your Tierra del Fuego National Park excursion with VisitUshuaia and add the entrance, train and complementary activities through the coordinated booking flow available for your product.

That gives you a clear itinerary, the correct pickup format, transparent inclusions and local support—advantages an isolated entrance ticket cannot provide.
