Does the cruise ship dock near Ushuaia city?

It´s a very usual question when people arrive to Ushuaia by sea. And the answer is Yes. Cruise ships dock right in Ushuaia, at the main port that sits directly next to the downtown area.

• The pier is only a short walk (5–10 minutes) from San Martín Avenue, the city’s main street.

• From the ship you can easily access restaurants, shops, taxis, and tour operators without needing a shuttle.

• It’s one of the most convenient ports in South America for cruise passengers, since the city is literally at the end of the pier.

Are there taxis available right at the port, or should I pre-book transportation?

Yes, there are usually taxis waiting at the port when cruise ships arrive. However, during peak season, demand can be high. If you want peace of mind, you can pre-book, but most passengers have no problem finding a taxi on the spot.

Is it easy to reach Tierra del Fuego National Park from the pier?

Very easy. The park entrance is only about 12 km (7–8 miles) from Ushuaia. We suggest to do it with an organized tour. Travel time is around 20–30 minutes. But please note, during cruise season, it´s not easy to find transportation to the park. Book in advance an excursion to the national park to save time and money, and avoid losing the activitie due availability.

Can I walk to the main shops and restaurants from the ship?

Yes, absolutely. The pier is right next to downtown Ushuaia. Within a 5–10 minute walk you’ll be on San Martín Avenue, the main street full of shops, cafés, and restaurants.

Do you  meet passengers directly at the dock?

Yes, we send guides to meet cruise passengers right outside the terminal. You can book boat trips, city tours, or park excursions directly with us, better in advance.
