Your day starts with a hotel pick-up in Ushuaia between 8:00 and 8:30 am. You’ll travel east along National Route 3 and the scenic Route “J” until reaching the Lasiphashaj River. There, a technical briefing and gear fitting will prepare you for the canoeing segment. Equipped with waterproof boots, overpants, and life jackets, you’ll paddle downstream into the majestic Beagle Channel.
While canoeing, you’ll observe diverse marine birds and may even spot sea lions in their natural habitat. After landing at Estancia Harberton, you’ll board a motorboat to navigate toward Martillo Island, home to a penguin rookery that can be admired from the boat.
Your journey continues to the remote and stunning Gable Island. After disembarking, you’ll be treated to a gourmet Patagonian lunch: assorted appetizers, lemon-butter hake with roasted potatoes and vegetables, and a panna cotta dessert with forest fruit jam—accompanied by wine, soda, and mineral water.
After coffee, a two-hour hike unveils the untouched beauty of the island, revealing Yámana relics and early settler remains. Amid silence broken only by birds and wind, you’ll feel a sense of isolation unique to this part of the world.
At the end of the hike, you’ll return to Harberton by zodiac and board the bus back to Ushuaia, arriving around 18:30.
