The excursion begins at the port of Ushuaia, located in the central area of the city. Shortly after departure, the boat sails across Ushuaia Bay, offering panoramic views of the city, the historic former prison building that now houses the Maritime Museum and the End of the World Museum, as well as the industrial area and the surrounding mountains.
The navigation continues through the Beagle Channel toward the Bridges Archipelago. Along the way, you will observe colonies of Imperial cormorants and South American sea lions resting on the islands. The area is also home to several seabirds, including South American terns, petrels, Black-browed albatrosses and upland geese.
Sailing further east, the boat reaches Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse, one of the most iconic landmarks of the Beagle Channel. Near the lighthouse it is possible to see the remains of the shipwreck of the cruise ship Monte Cervantes from 1930.
The route continues through a scenic section of the channel surrounded by mountains and valleys. During this part of the journey you may observe isolated buildings and small settlements along the coast, including Estancia Remolino, Puerto Almanza and Puerto Williams on the Chilean side of Navarino Island.
After navigating near Gable Island, the vessel reaches Martillo Island, where an important colony of Magellanic penguins and a smaller colony of Gentoo penguins live. The boat approaches the beach so passengers can observe the penguins in their natural habitat before starting the return journey to the port of Ushuaia.
